Objective & Scope
■ Objective: KARPAGAM ENGINEERS PVT. LTD. acknowledges the intrinsic value of biodiversity in sustaining healthy ecosystems, ensuring climate resilience, and supporting livelihoods, aligning with EcoVadis sustainability assessment criteria to integrate conservation into business strategy and operations.
■ Scope: This policy applies universally to all operations, projects, supply chains, facilities, logistics, contractors, and vendors associated with KEPL.
Main Policy Commitments
■ Ecological Protection: Avoid or minimize operations in protected areas, wetlands, or regions of high ecological sensitivity.
■ Flora & Fauna Conservation: Preserve local flora and fauna by implementing eco-restoration and afforestation initiatives.
■ Sustainable Practices: Promote sustainable land use and water management practices across all operational areas.
■ Deforestation Prevention: Avoid deforestation in operational and supply chain activities while supporting sustainable forest management and reforestation programs.
Supply Chain, Monitoring & Governance
■ Supply Chain Responsibility: Encourage suppliers to adopt environmentally responsible sourcing, production practices, and the use of renewable, recyclable, and low-impact materials.
■ Monitoring & Reporting: Establish biodiversity KPIs (such as number of trees planted and native species restored) and report progress through disclosures aligned with EcoVadis, GRI, and ISO 14001.
■ Stakeholder Engagement: Involve employees through environmental volunteering, green workplace programs, and biodiversity education campaigns.
